Training for the week 7/23 to 7/29 was fairly muted with the theme being taper so that I can get back that strong, healthy feeling in mind and body, before the Canadian Death Race. Hard to believe that it is almost here! Am I ready? You bet your ass I am ready!
Week 7/23
Mon: 5 miles, easy – road
Tues: 5.65 miles, social – road
Wed: 11.5 miles – trails
Thurs: 8 miles, tempo, strong run– road
Fri: 3.5 miles, easy – road
Sat: 11 miles, WU 1 mile + Beaver Trail Race 10 Miler – trails
Sun: 2.5 miles, rest day – road
Total miles: 47 miles
Quality Workouts
Wednesday: 11.5 mile trail run, two loops in Ward Reservation.
Thursday: ~8 mile tempo run in just over 53 min
Saturday: 10 miles @ Run with the Beavers Trail Race, 1:25:11, 15th place overall, easy first 4 miles, tempo last 6. Felt remarkable!
Next Week
Goal for the coming week will be to continue preparing mentally (with visualization and strong thoughts) for the long grind that will be the Canadian Death Race on Saturday. I am ready. I am very ready.
