Training Week 7/2

Training for the week 7/2 to 7/8 was about fighting for life over what was the nasty disease that is Lyme. I had contracted Lyme on Saturday of the week prior (two days before start of this week) and was absolutely knocked flat on my ass with high fever, no/low energy, and a splitting headache. It was just brutal. As you can imagine, the week was about figuring out what was wrong with me, and then getting better. And I did that, and I was even able to bounce back to complete a semi-long run on this otherwise down week.

Week 7/2

Mon: 1 mile keep-the-streak-alive run – road
Tues: 1 mile keep-the-streak-alive run – road
Wed: 1 mile keep-the-streak-alive run – road
Thurs: 1 mile keep-the-streak-alive run – road
Fri: 3 mile keep-the-streak-alive run – road
Sat: 6 mile keep-the-streak-alive run – road
Sun: 18 miles in 3 hours @ Wachusett Mountain with lots of elevation change – moutain

Total miles: 31 miles

Next Week

Goal for the coming week is to continue to recover from Lyme and ramp up back to prior week mileage with tempo’s, middle distance trail run, and a double or two, but only within the constrains that Lyme allows. By end of week, I hope to log another 6 hour run, the last long run before the Canadian Death Race. Less than a month to go 🙂
